Although Activision was due to reveal the next
Call of Duty next week, the company was forced to move up its plan after the trailer for the game leaked in the media last night.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the next title in the series, in development by Sledgehammer Games, the team that collaborated with Infinity Ward on
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
The game is due to be released for current and next-gen consoles on November 4, 2014, as well as Windows PC. Notably, Activision has brought in actor Kevin Spacey to provide his voice and likeness for one of the key roles in the game.
This follows other industry titans also utilizing movie actors to fill key roles in video games, including Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe in
Beyond: Two Souls, and Katee Sackhoff in
EVE: Valkyrie.
