Newsbrief: Japanese social game giants Gree and DeNA are set to introduce monthly spending limits for young users on their networks in Japan later this week, according to media reports. The Japan Times reports that monthly spending for children will be limited to ¥5,000 ($61.79) and ¥10,000 ($123.58) dependent on age range, in response to increased calls from parents suggesting that such a limit should be put in place to stop young people spending too much online. Earlier this month, a parent filed a lawsuit against Facebook, claiming that minors are able to purchase Facebook Credits for use in games on the social network, and that this goes against California's consumer protection laws. A U.S. District Judge also recently chose to uphold a handful of claims that Apple distributed free iOS apps that trick children into money in-app purchases.
