Newsbrief: Though the terms are not yet finalized, Ouya CEO Julie Uhrman
has told Reuters that her company has signed a deal with Xiaomi, China's
number one smartphone manufacturer, to provide games for its set-top box and smart TV business.
Uhrman said that Xiaomi will likely offer a channel for Ouya games on its devices, and market Ouya games to Chinese audiences. Xiaomi last year launched an Android-powered TV called MiTV, which Uhrman name-checked (and which
already has built-in game capabilities.)
Ouya
launched its Ouya Everywhere program last month, in which compatible devices which elect to offer an Ouya channel can deliver Ouya games to players. The first such device is the Mad Catz MOJO Android microconsole.
