A number of employees at the San Francisco-based online game company Kixeye lost their jobs today, though it's yet unclear how widespread the layoffs were or how it might affect the company's ongoing operations.

Gamasutra first learned of the layoffs after a number of folks from other online game companies began posting condolences and job opportunities on Twitter, and independently confirmed the news with a source involved in the cuts.

The company previously laid off a large number of people in January, and we've reached out to Kixeye for further details on this new round of cuts. The company is best known for making strategy games like War Commander and Vega Conflict for browsers and mobile devices.

As always, if you or someone you know was affected by this you can email Gamasutra to tell your story confidentially.
