Combined Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sales now total around 60 million, according to EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, speaking at The Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference watched by GameSpot.

At the end of January, 2016, Jorgensen said that the combined install base for the PS4 and Xbox One was over 55 million, meaning an extra 5 million consoles have been sold since then.

Even though that combined figure has increased by 5 million, it still seems safe to assume that Sony, which last month confirmed it had almost sold 36 million PS4s, leads the charge.

Microsoft has yet to reveal any concrete sales, although the new combined figure implies the Xbox One install base is around, or slightly over, the 20 million mark.

Jorgensen also discussed EA's approach to virtual reality, with the CFO suggesting that the publisher wouldn't even consider developing VR titles until the platform had proven itself.

In Jorgensen's opinion, the virtual reality market would need to become similar in size to the console market before EA would spend "$50-$100 million" on a dedicated VR game.
