Games Released in the United States:
id Software prepares to launch its post-apocalyptic first-person shooter
Rage in all regions this week. The game arrives as id's first major console and PC release since 2004's
Doom 3, and features a large focus on driving and racing gameplay in addition to a variety of RPG elements.
Also arriving on store shelves this week are From Software's
Demon's Souls follow-up
Dark Souls, 2K's basketball franchise update
NBA 2K12, and Ubisoft's
Just Dance 3, which marks the franchise's first appearance on the Xbox 360 as a Kinect-compatible title.
Xbox Live Arcade will host a number of downloadable standouts, including EA's
NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, Robot Entertainment's
Orcs Must Die! and Sega's Dreamcast-ported
Sega Bass Fishing and
Space Channel 5 Part 2, while the PlayStation Network gets the crime-themed multiplayer FPS
Payday: The Heist and a port of Rudolf Kremers' ambient exploration game
Eufloria.
