Arcade chain operator Dave & Busters has appointed video game veteran Michael J Griffith to its board of directors.
Griffith is currently the vice chairman of Activision Blizzard, a role he retained after resigning from his role as Activision Publishing's president and CEO from 2005 to 2010.
Griffith's
2010 resignation came without explanation just two months ahead of the June 30 expiration of his employment contract with the company.
The resignation came on the heels of highly-publicized troubles for the company that began with the firing of Infinity Ward studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella.
"We welcome Mike's significant industry and business experience as we continue to open new stores and bring our unique interactive entertainment and dining experience to new markets across the United States and Canada," said Dave & Buster's CEO Steve King in a statement.
Dave & Buster's was founded in 1982, and currently operates 57 entertainment venues that include both redemption and video games, as well as dining and drinking options.
