Rebel Jam aims to turn a game jam disaster into something positive

The games industry read on in collective despair last month, as it came to light that a production company had attempted (rather hideously) to film a game jam in the format of a reality television show. But some good has come out of this disintegration, as one of the participants who walked out on the show, Zoe Quinn, is putting together a three-day game jam called Rebel Jam, that will be recorded and edited into episodes, much in the same way that the original jam was to be provided. "The goal is to show game jamming happen as it naturally happens, document the process of going from idea to prototype, and offer an accessible peek into the world of independent game development as well as creating something that's fun and interesting to watch," reads the blurb on the official website. Interested parties can apply now, although if you don't have the funds to travel to the as-of-yet undecided location of the jam, you may have to hope for the kindness of strangers through a Paypal sponsorship.
