Sony announced today that its PlayStation Home social hub for the PlayStation 3 will receive an update tomorrow that will include a full redesign of the services. Available from November 3 for users in the U.S. and Canada, the new redesign will include brand new 'districts' in the social world, with each based on specific genres of gaming. There will also be a number of free-to-play games available, with a freemium payment model in place for players to take advantage of. New games included as part of the redesign include tile-sliding puzzler Cogs, a first-person shooter called Bootleggers ’29, and a collection of card games and trivia games, amongst others. Jack Buser, director of PlayStation Home, explained, "This is a major milestone for PlayStation Network, and we are thrilled to bring a new core experience to PlayStation Home where games are front and center." "Home's community is made up of some of the most passionate gamers on PS3, and we've listened to their feedback since Home launched in 2008, finally transforming Home itself into a game. This redesign marks a new beginning for PlayStation Home, and players can expect much more to come."
