The DualShock 4 controller for the PlayStation 4 will work out of the box with a Windows PC, Sony has confirmed.
Previously, the PS3's DualShock 3 controller required special drivers and third-party software to work with a Windows PC, while the Xbox 360 controller is PC-compatible.
Now SCE president Shuhei Yoshida
has revealed via Twitter that the DualShock 4 controller will work "by default" with a Windows PC, adding that it is compatible "for basic functions."
Multiple developers who have access to a DS4 controller,
including Retro City Rampage creator Brian Provinciano, have since confirmed that this is the case.
