Paradox games removed from Steam Spy tracker at company's request

Developer Sergey Galyonkin took to Twitter today to announce that all data on Paradox Interactive games would be removed from his Steam Spy analytics platform at the company's request.

Developer Sergey Galyonkin took to Twitter today to announce that all data on Paradox Interactive games would be removed from his Steam Spy analytics platform at the company's request.

In doing so Galyonkin is making a public show of being amenable to developer and publisher requests regarding his platform, which has proven to be a flawed but useful tool for tracking stats on the Steam games market.

"I firmly believe Steam Spy should be seen as a useful tool by developers, not as a threat," wrote Galyonkin on Twitter, noting that takedown requests are yet uncommon and Paradox is "the first big publisher to request this."

To date a handful of games have been delisted from Galyonkin's platform, most notably Kerbal Space Program, which developer Squad requested be removed from Steam Spy weeks after Galkyonkin launched it last April

Paradox, for its part, has recently gone public in an effort to (according to frontman Fredrik Wester) drum up more capital and continue making deals in the vein of its recent White Wolf Publishing acquisition
