NYC core mobile startup Turbo is Nexon's latest publishing deal

The Asian MMO company has been splashing out by signing games and funding developers for some time, and now grabs the New York City-based startup's first game.
Newsbrief: Today, Nexon and Turbo have announced that the Asian MMO company will publish the New York City startup's first game across the globe. No further details of the relationship or Turbo's first project have yet been revealed. Turbo was founded late last year by former CCP and Square Enix veteran Yohei Ishii to create core-focused, triple-A-style mobile and tablet games, and picked up funding from SoftBank Ventures Korea this year. The team has recruited staffers that have worked at studios such as Rockstar, OMGPOP, Riot Games, Next Level Games, and Q-Games. This is but the latest in a string of mobile publishing deals and investments Nexon has pursued recently: last month, it invested in Austrian studio Socialspiel, secured publishing rights for Human Element by Robotoki, a studio it had already invested in, and signed up Halo: Spartan Assault developers Vanguard Games for a publishing deal, too. Late last year, Nexon also invested in Rumble, a studio formed by former BioWare/Pandemic CEO Greg Richardson.
