Nvidia has worked around App Store rules to bring its GeForce Now cloud streaming service to iOS devices.

Earlier this year, Apple updated its iOS App Review Guidelines to make it nigh-impossible for streaming services like GeForce Now, Stadia, and xCloud to launch on the marketplace without jumping through a huge number of hoops.

To get around those convoluted guidelines, Nvidia has decided against launching GeForce Now on the App Store, and will instead be rolling it out via the Safari web browser

That means users on iOS devices will be able to access the service by visiting the GeForce Now website though Apple's web browser, where they'll be able to play titles like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Destiny 2 Beyond Light, and eventually Fortnite on their iPhone and iPad.

The iOS Safari version of GeForce Now is available in beta from today, and will require a gamepad to play supported titles. It'll be interesting to see whether other companies like Microsoft and Google pursue a similar route for their respective streaming services, or can hash out a deal with Apple to bring them to the App Store directly.
