Disney Interactive is deepening its partnership with Code.org by allowing the educational non-profit to use Disney Infinity versions of some of its popular characters in Code.org's free Disney Infinity Play Lab coding tutorial.

Last year Code.org launched a similar "Hour of Code" programming tutorial (designed to be accessed in classrooms from a browser or tablet) featuring Disney Interactive versions of characters from the movie Frozen.

Nearly 10 million people have accessed that tutorial, and Code.org's new Play Lab venture adds additional characters from the Disney film Big Hero 6 and a more robust set of challenges that must be solved using pre-made "blocks" of code.

It's effectively a game that aims to teach programming skills; going forward, Code.org aims to launch a more powerful toolset later this year that advanced students can use to design their own web and mobile apps.
