features the creatures from the Pokemon series in the Warring States/Sengoku setting and interacting with the characters of Koei's Nobunaga's Ambition
, which originally appeared on the MSX, NES, and other systems in the 1980s.
Nintendo has crossed the Pokemon
franchise with other properties only a handful of times with the Mystery Dungeon
and the Smash Bros.
series. It has a history of collaborating with Tecmo Koei, though, working with the developer's Team Ninja group on 2010's Metroid: Other M for Wii
