Nintendo saw its 3DS handheld console double in hardware sales this week, selling nearly as much as the PSP and PlayStation 3 combined, according to the Japanese dedicated video game charts. For the week ended July 17, data from tracking firm Media Create, as translated by Andriasang, showed the Nintendo 3DS bump its sales up to 46,637 units, from 22,942 units last week. The PSP was forced to drop down to second place, with 26,565 total unit sales, while the PlayStation 3 saw sales raise slightly to 23,322 units. The Wii also saw a rise in sales, up 1,000 units to 14,237, while the Xbox 360 declined slightly, down from 2,016 to 1,734 units for this week. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended July 17, 2011. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
