Newsbrief: Ignition Tokyo has updated the website for its next
El Shaddai game, revealing it to be a social game due for release on Android in Japan later this year.
The first game in the franchise,
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, was released last year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as a third-person action game. This new follow-up, titled
El Shaddai Social Battle, will be a free-to-play game available via the Gree social platform.
The game is based on the content in the first game, but is not a sequel to it. It will feature turn-based RPG battling, with a focus on team-based action.
