Newsbrief: Korean online game publishing giant Nexon announced today that it has acquired mobile game developer Gloops, best known for popular titles on DeNA's Mobage platform, for a notable ¥36.5 billion ($468 million).

The Tokyo-based studio has been around since early 2010, and has released numerous titles via Mobage including JapanPro Baseball Card Battle, Warriors of Odin and Three Kingdoms Guild Battle. Its focus is on incorporating real-time synchronous gameplay into mobile games.

The acquisition comes as part of Nexon's various moves to boost its mobile game offerings. Earlier this summer, the company acquired inBlue, a Japanese developer that specializes in titles for mobile social game networks Gree and Mobage.
