Newsbrief: Game industry veteran Rod Humble recently announced his departure from Second Life virtual world developer Linden Lab, where he was CEO. Now the company has announced his replacement. Taking the reins at Linden Lab is Ebbe Altberg, whose background is more about management of web services than game design and development, a contrast from Humble, who's known for his work at Maxis, SOE and experimental indie projects. Ebbe was most recently COO of BranchOut, a Facebook app for finding jobs. He said of his new Linden Lab position, "There are significant opportunities ahead, and I look forward to leading us into the next phase of growth."
