Mobile games publisher Thumbstar has signed an agreement with mobile phone network China Telecom and Viva Red Limited, with the aim to distribute its games in China while also protecting its copyright in the country.
Newsbrief: Mobile games publisher Thumbstar has signed an agreement with mobile phone network China Telecom and Viva Red Limited, with the aim to distribute its games in China while also protecting its copyright in the country. The studio, led by industry veterans Gareth and Martin Edmondson, will now have access to China Telecom's 130 million subscribers. Gareth Edmondson explained that the agreement with the government-owned company means that developers can have peace of mind that it will "provide the necessary copyright protection to encourage further market growth." The idea is to roll out a back catalogue of games over the next several months, while also providing Chinese gamers will future releases from the publisher, across Java devices and smartphones.
