Today, mobile gameplay video and social sharing company Kamcord announced a $15 million investment round led by
Puzzle & Dragons publisher GungHo Online Entertainment. Tencent and Wargaming, alongside venture companies and individuals, also joined the funding round.
Kamcord has launched its product on both iOS and Android. Co-founder Aditya Rathnam
tells VentureBeat that its Android SDK has caught up with its iOS SDK in terms of installs.
This new $15 million comes on top of a $7.1 million
investment round this past spring.
"By partnering with Kamcord, we're expanding our community, as we know community-created gameplay videos are an indispensable form of information, entertainment, and community engagement," said GungHo Online Entertainment America CEO Jun Iwasaki in a statement.
In March, Unity
acquired Kamcord rival Applifier, and
has announced plans to integrate its video-sharing social-service Everyplay directly into the engine.
