Microsoft says 'no' to the notion of Scorpio-exclusive Xbox games

As E3 2016 putters along, Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg responds to people questioning whether or not some games might be exclusive to Microsoft's more powerful "Scorpio" Xbox with "no."

As E3 2016 putters along, Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg took to Twitter today to respond to people questioning whether or not some games might be exclusive to Microsoft's more powerful "Scorpio" Xbox.

The answer, according to Greenberg, is that there will be "no Scorpio exclusives, so no one gets left behind." If that holds true, it could be a notable point of contention going forward as game developers decide how to prioritize between optimizing for the original Xbox One and the more powerful "Scorpio" hardware, slated to launch next year.

Of course, the difference between the two remains to be seen. Microsoft confirmed this week that a newer, more powerful Xbox is in development, codenamed "Scorpio", but gave few concrete details about its capabilities other than it would sport 8 CPU cores and be capable of providing 6 teraflops of GPU power.

And as we discovered earlier this year, many developers believe the benefits of being console-exclusive are dubious at best.
