Microsoft will hold its annual pre-E3 media briefing at 9 a.m. Pacific on Monday, June 6 at Los Angeles' Galen Center, just ahead of a previously announced Sony media event being held later in the day. The company hasn't announced what will be discussed at the invite-only event, but the registration site highlights a number of taglines, including "You are the controller," "You play here," "You are connected together" and "Start here." Last year, Microsoft's pre-E3 festivities included a flashy Cirque Du Soleil-produced show officially unveiling a new name for the Kinect 3D camera controller, which had previously been referred to as Project Natal. A more traditional media briefing the next day included the announcement of Konami's Metal Gear Rising for the Xbox 360, as well as demonstrations of Gears of War 3, Halo: Reach and Fable 3, among other exclusive titles. Previous Microsoft E3 press conferences have seen the unveiling of Microsoft's Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles, as well as appearances by celebrities including The Beatles' Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Microsoft isn't expected to discuss any new hardware at this year's event, unlike Sony, which is expected to announce new details on its recently unveiled, code-named Next Generation Portable, and Nintendo, which is widely rumored to be planning an announcement of a successor to the Wii. This year's E3 Expo will run from June 7 to 9 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Nintendo has yet to announce the timing or location for its pre-show media briefing.
