Major mobile franchise Let's Golf tries out rising distribution method

Gameloft said this week it is launching its popular Let's Golf franchise on the Line Game Platform, signaling an ongoing trend of mobile game devs utilizing chat apps to gain users.
Gameloft this week launched its popular free-to-play game Let's Golf on the Line Game platform for the global market. The release of Line Let's Golf highlights a rising trend in the mobile game space, which sees mobile game companies utilizing chat apps as distribution platforms for their games. Chat apps weren't created as game distribution platforms, rather as more feature-rich alternatives to texting that have become popular in Japan. But now game companies are noticing the kind of reach chat apps can provide, and games and chat apps could be destined to become a powerful pair. Line is the top player in Japan's chat app space, with 300 million registrations. Last year, Line launched the Line Game platform, which enabled Line users to download games and play them with their friends through the Line app.
