Indie Fund backing award-winning game The Swapper

After the success of Dear Esther and Q.U.B.E., Indie Fund has announced another title it's financing, The Swapper, an award-winning "ambient puzzle-platformer" from Helsinki-based Facepalm Games.
After the success of Dear Esther and Q.U.B.E., Indie Fund has announced another title it's financing, The Swapper, an award-winning "ambient puzzle-platformer" from Helsinki-based Facepalm Games. Indie Fund has so far helped launch two titles that have become immediate hits for their developers -- Toxic Games' Q.U.B.E. recouped its $90,000 investment four days after releasing, while Thechineseroom's Dear Esther recouped its $55,000 backing in less than six hours and sold over 50,000 copies in its first week. The group was started two years ago as a funding source for independent studios, established by successful independent developers like Braid creator Jonathan Blow, World of Goo makers Ron Carmel and Kyle Gabler, and others. It's also invested in Steph Thirion's Faraway, Pocketwatch Games' Monaco, and an unannounced title. The sixth game to receive an Indie Fund investment, The Swapper has been in development at Facepalm for two years now. The studio is made up of two young developers, Otto Hantula and Olli Harjola, both University of Helsinki students who work on The Swapper in their spare time. Facepalm hasn't yet announced a release date or planned platforms for The Swapper, but it's already received a lot of attention after picking up several awards at competitions like the Freeplay Awards, IndieCade, GameConnection Selected Projects, and others.
