In-game currency comes to Titanfall, but you can't buy it

Respawn announced today that it will be adding in-game currency to Titanfall alongside a new market system on July 31, but you can't pay real money for it -- you have to play for it.
Respawn announced today that it will be adding in-game currency called Credits to Titanfall on July 31, but you can't exchange real money for them -- you have to earn Credits by playing the game. This is notable because it flies in the face of established business practices for most big game companies, including Titanfall publisher Electronic Arts, who recently added real-money microtransactions for in-game currency to Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare in a post-launch update. Details of the update come courtesy of a company blog post by Respawn's David Shaver, and are remarkably tame: the new Black Market system does not seem designed to allow players to purchase items from one another, or to exchange real money for in-game currency. Instead, the new system seems designed to afford players more agency in how they play Titanfall. Credits will be gained by playing matches or selling unwanted Burn Card packs, and can be spent to purchase specific Burn Card packs or unlock new cosmetic Titan insignias.
