The Humble Bundle has expanded the scope of its charity efforts with one of its most recent sales, the
Devolver Digital Double Debut, allowing customers to funnel the proceeds of their purchase to both indie film distributor The Film Collaborative and indie gamesman Brandon Boyer's
GoFundMe campaign for cancer treatment relief.
The inclusion of an individual GoFundMe campaign marks a notable departure from the Humble Bundle's previous charitable endeavors, which have been limited to allowing customers to contribute to larger charities like Child's Play, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the American Red Cross.
Humble Bundle's support for Boyer's fundraising campaign seems fitting in light of his work in the game development community -- Boyer is a co-creator and operator of the Austin-based indie game developer collective
Juegos Rancheros, the charmain of the Independent Games Festival and a frequent evangelist for independent developers. He is also a former Gamasutra editor.
The sale is otherwise in line with previous Humble Bundle offerings -- customers can pay what they like for a bundle of games from Devolver Digital's catalog, along with a selection of independent films that can be downloaded via the VHX film distribution system. Notable highlights include the game
