How Spry Fox was 'built to be a cockroach' that can survive the game industry

This month Flying Saucer Media published a brief video documenting, in its members' own words, how Spry Fox has managed to survive -- and thrive -- in the six years since it was founded.

It's easy to watch at just over 11 minutes long, and seems to have been shot shortly after Spry Fox released its popular mobile game Alphabear last year. The video is branded as the pilot episode of "Stage of Development," a series documenting game dev that FSM is currently trying to raise funds for via Kickstarter.

This is the second attempt to do so after the first failed to take off and was cancelled last year. At the time FSM had published a shortened version of the aforementioned Spry Fox episode as a teaser; now, almost a year later, the longer version it's published is worth watching.

It outlines how Spry Fox came to be, how it operates as a distributed studio (one member has reportedly never met anyone else at the studio) and why it's built to survive the "intense, intense variability of the game industry" by juggling multiple inexpensive projects at once.
