Newsbrief: Major Japanese mobile developer Gree has invested an undisclosed sum in the Vancouver-based game developer IUGO Mobile Entertainment, which will help the company create new games for a global market. This partnership gives Gree its first foothold in Canada, allowing the company to continue its ongoing growth in North America. Gree said it will work alongside IUGO to co-develop numerous free-to-play games using IUGO’s proprietary technologies. Earlier this month, Gree also partnered with the Tokyo-based HTML5 company Wizcorp, which will help the major company better leverage the emerging web standard.
