Newsbrief: NHN Japan said this week that it plans to launch a social games platform for its popular social network LINE, as it looks to rival giants DeNA and Gree. As part of an event in Sapporo, Japan, NHN Japan CEO Morikawa said that the company plans to launch the new games platform on July 3, reports TechCrunch Japan (and as translated by Serkan Toto). Although no real details were provided on what the platform will entail, it's notable that LINE currently has over 40 million registered users, with 82 percent of these active users, and 18.5 million residing in Japan.
