Organizers of the 2015
Game Developers Conference are happy to announce that for the third year running, 30 GDC Indie Games Summit tickets will be donated to the 2015 Indie Giving event in partnership with the
Indie Giving charity effort.
The goal of the agreement with Indie Giving, which is run by
FGL chief and indie community veteran Chris Hughes, is to give generous indie game makers an opportunity to attend GDC at an affordable rate, and give back to people in need at the same time.
GDC officials have reserved 30 of the (
sold out elsewhere) Summit passes for purchase through the Indie Giving package program, and Indie Giving organizers have enhanced the deal earlier this year by including 2 nights stay at a local hotel. To purchase these $350 packages, you must agree to volunteer on an onsite project before GDC 2015, giving back to the community along the way.
Everyone who signs up for the Indie Giving package will come together on the Sunday before GDC 2015, March 1st, to work together on a humanitarian service project in the Bay Area. Those who pitch in and buy an Indie Giving Package get transportation and lunch on the Sunday volunteering day, plus other perks to come.
Indie Giving package buyers will also have a chance to attend
the Independent Games Summit on Monday, March 2nd and Tuesday, March 3rd at GDC 2015 - the only way you can get this sold-out pass at this point.
A limited amount of Indie Giving packages are now available via
the organization's official website - and Game Developers Conference itself takes place in the Moscone Center in San Francisco from Monday, March 2nd through Friday, March 6th, with more information available on
the official GDC website.
Gamasutra and GDC are sibling organizations under parent UBM Tech.
