Newsbrief: South Korean mobile game developer and publisher Gamevil has reached 100 million downloads worldwide for its smartphone games, a milestone it hit just half a year after it crossed the 50 million mark. Gamevil attributed the rapid rise in downloads to its internal flexibility and ability to adapt to changing mobile market trends. Its free and paid mobile games include popular franchises like Zenonia, Cartoon Wars, Baseball Superstars, and Air Penguin. The company enjoyed a particularly prosperous fiscal year (ending December 31) in 2011, reporting record-high revenues of 42.6 billion KRW ($38.1 million) and profits of 16.1 billion KRW (14.4 million). It's optimistic for 2012, too, and intends to release 40 new games to the iTunes App Store and Android Market this year.
