CCP Games has lately branched out its
EVE Online MMO into the PlayStation 3 online shooter
Dust 514 -- but apparently that's not the end of the experiments the company made with its premier IP.
Now, it's created a Unity-powered first-person space combat tech demo called
EVR, which supports the Oculus Rift headset.

attended the company's Fan Fest, which took place this past weekend in the developer's home town of Reykjavik, Iceland, and was able to play
EVR, as were all attendees.
His story states that the game is "a side project" that "wasn’t finished" and may never see release. "It was just giving them ideas for the future. It was something they were doing for fun," Kuchera writes. The demo was developed in the studio's 20 percent time -- during which developers get to work on their own side projects.
According to Kuchera, the company has made no final determination about the project's potential release.
