[Every week, IndieGames.com: The Weblog editor-in-chief Tim W. will be summing up some of the top free-to-download and commercial indie games from the last seven days on his sister 'state of indie' weblog.] This week on 'Best Of Indie Games', we take a look at some of the top independent PC Flash/downloadable titles released over this last week. The delights in this edition include a new Hoshi Saga game from Yoshio Ishii, a Dodonpachi-inspired vertical shooter, a new release from Kentucky Route Zero developer Cardboard Computer, plus a demolition game set in a very busy city center. Here's the highlights from the last seven days: Game Pick: 'Hoshi Saga Ringo Hime' (Nekogames, browser) "Hoshi Saga Ringo Hime is the seventh entry in the long-running puzzle series by Yoshio Ishii, where players are once again presented with a set of twenty-five puzzles and asked to find the hidden star within each of them." Game Pick: 'Aero Flux' (Pieter Visser, freeware) "Aero Flux is a Dodonpachi-inspired vertical shooter that features a two player co-operative mode, multiple difficulty settings, customizable controls, upgradeable weapons, smart bombs, a combo scoring system, and your usual array of boss enemies to defeat at the end of each stage." Game Pick: 'Slayin' (Pixel Licker, browser) "Slayin is a browser-based arcade game that puts you in control of a brave knight, tasked with slaughtering horde after horde of enemies using just the one sword in his hand." Game Pick: 'The King's League' (Kurechii Studio, browser) "The King's League revolves around the shennenigans of an old King. Unlike many monarchs, he lacks a heir and as such, instead of appointing a dutiful minister to the task, he has chosen to organize a massive series of tournaments in order to find someone capable of beating him into submission." Game Pick: 'Ruins' (Cardboard Computer, browser) "Cardboard Computer's Ruins is a lot prettier than your average art game. Set within an eerie, dream-like landscape filled with fog, barren trees and random pieces of architecture, Ruins is a game about a dog chasing rabbits." Game Pick: 'Demolition Inc.' (Zeroscale Games, commercial indie) "In Demolition Inc. you are Mike the alien who has been sent to Earth to demolish everything around in a variety of different ways. You can abduct cows and place them in the road to cause crashes, or take control of cars and trucks and smash into buildings, or perhaps simply take a huge rock and roll it through town."
