Average Nintendo 3DS eShop paying customer has bought about five games

At E3 this week, Nintendo of America's EVP of sales and marketing revealed some new statistics about its eShop download service for the Nintendo 3DS.
At E3 this week, Nintendo of America's EVP of sales and marketing revealed some new statistics about its eShop download service for the Nintendo 3DS. Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales and marketing took the stage at a Gamasutra-attended E3 event to trumpet the company's upcoming 3DS software lineup, as well as showcase third party games. But during the presentation, he also revealed some interesting statistics about the handheld console. According to Moffitt, customers who have bought at least one game on the eShop have purchased an average of 4.7 games each on its eShop service. Over 70 percent of 3DSes are connected to the internet, and 58 million Swapnote picture messages have been exchanged between 3DS users via the internet. In the U.S., five pieces of software -- all free downloads -- have passed the 1 million download mark: - Netflix - Swapnote (known as Nintendo Letter Box in Europe) - The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures - Pokedex 3D - Nintendo Video The company has amassed 60 million views on its Nintendo Video service and also announced its first original series for the service, Threediots -- an Adult Swim-style live action comedy show.
