Newsbrief: It's had a long run, but the PlayStation Portable is finally being discontinued in Japan this month after selling more than 80 million units worldwide. According to an official statement from PlayStation Japan, and as reported by Polygon, the halting of PSP shipments came as part of a push to sell more PS Vitas in Japan, with two new retail bundles available. The PSP first launched in Japan back in December 2004. Sony also released the PSP Go back in 2009, but this was discontinued in 2011.
