Google SVP Andy Rubin revealed today that there are now over half a million Android devices activated every single day. In a tweet, the Android boss noted, "There are now over 500,000 Android devices activated every day, and it's growing at 4.4 percent week-over-week." This figure is up 100,000 from last month, when Google announced that 400,000 Android devices were being activated each day. It's also approaching double the number of devices that were being activated each day back in December. Google also revealed last month that over 100 million Android devices have been activated worldwide in total. Earlier in the month, market research firm Aysmco said that it had found Android developers are "less persistent" than their iOS counterparts, with the number of apps that are published but then unpublished for whatever reason being much higher for Android developers.
