Xbox Live Arcade motorcycle stunt title
Trials HD has now attracted over 2 million downloads across the base game and its two DLC packs, according to Helsinki-based developer RedLynx.
The game, which first hit Microsoft's download service in August 2009, continues to sell well after reaching
300,000 downloads in its first month and
a million total sales as of last September.
Those previous milestones did not include sales of the December 2009 expansion
Big Pack DLC, or the
Big Thrills DLC that hit late last year.
"For a digitally downloaded game, this is a significant milestone, and shows one of the many ways the digital space is quickly growing and the industry itself is changing and evolving," RedLynx CEO Tero Virtala said in a statement.
"We couldn't be more pleased with the success, and we'd like to thank all our fans for their continuous support and enthusiasm for our game."
RedLynx got its start in 2004 working on games for Nokia's N-Gage, and has focused on digital delivery of its titles every since, with downloadable releases for PC, Mac and iPhone.
In an effort to combat piracy, the company
leaked a Leaderboard-free version of similar PC title
Trials 2 to torrent sites alongside its official release in 2008.
RedLynx currently has six teams working on six separate game projects, creative director Antti Ilvessuo said in a statement, including
upcoming WiiWare "platform racer" MotoHeroz.
