Newsbrief: Developer 2K has come up with a unique way of incentivizing gameplay while encouraging NBA 2K17 players to get out and be more active..

The San Francisco-based studio has teamed up with fitness tech specialist, Fitbit, to reward NBA 2K17 players who take 10,000 steps a day with in-game perks and bonuses.

Once players surpass that milestone -- either through sheer force of will or by strapping their Fitbit to an overactive pet -- the game will prompt them to apply temporary attribute boosts to improve their performance for the next five games played that day.

The initiative, which is being rolled out on November 25, will only be available to those who own a PS4 or Xbox One version of the game.
