Riot Games has revealed that its action RTS title
League of Legends sees more than 1.4 million daily active players, with over 15 million players now registered.
The developer also noted that the current number of active players each month is now over 4 million, with the peak number of simultaneous players across its U.S. and European servers topping 500,000.
Over 1 million games of
League of Legends are played every day, with the most popular combination of players being two teams of five each, according to Riot.
The
League of Legends Season One Championship also finished recently, and saw 1.7 million users watching matches online, with a peak of 210,000 viewers simultaneously.
Brandon Beck, CEO of Riot Games, said, "We are extremely proud and appreciative of the devoted
League of Legends community which has grown substantially over the last year and a half."
"We're committed to continuing to match their dedication with our relentless focus on ongoing enhancements to the player experience with great new features, content, and polish - and we have some very exciting surprises in store just around the corner."
The developer plans to launch the game in more regions later this year, including China and Southeast Asia.
