'Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die'

"Since we as a company couldn't launch on the Wii U ourselves, Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die." - Crytek founder Cevat Yerli admits that Crysis 3 on Wii U was dropped as business broke down between EA and Nintendo.
"Since we as a company couldn't launch on the Wii U ourselves - we don’t have a publishing license - Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die."
- Crytek founder Cevat Yerli admits that Crysis 3 was destined for the Wii U, but a lack of support from Nintendo meant the port had to be dropped. Crysis 3 launched on Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last month, and hasn't performed as well with critics as its predecessors did. Talking to Venturebeat, Yerli said that a Wii U version had been in the works, but that a breakdown in business communications between publishers EA and Nintendo saw the port killed off. "We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U. We were very close to launching it," he said. "But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that." Yerli told Gamasutra recently that the new wave of consoles will reinvigorate current console generation fatigue in gamers, elevating new concepts in video games that current platforms are limiting.
