EA's Battlefield 3 has now sold over 8 million units in total worldwide, up 3 million since its opening week sales. The news comes from EA CFO Eric Brown, who announced the figure during the Baird Technology Conference in San Francisco, as reported by Game Informer. The game originally sold 5 million in its opening week, meaning that it has now sold an additional 3 million in the space of a month. Brown also said that the game has shipped 12 million copies in total, up from 10 million shipped in its first week on sale. Before launch, Battlefield 3 saw close to 3 million pre-orders. Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter predicted last month that the game will sell 8 million in total by the end of the year.
