I want to share observations on why most projects from novice developers do not look very stylish. And the main problem that we noticed is the use of ready-made game assets.
Recently, a lot of game graphics have appeared, both paid and free, of completely different styles and trends.
But most of these assets have one thing in common - they don’t fit together. All assets are drawn without a single concept and understanding of how it will interact with other elements of the game interface. Therefore, when a novice developer starts using game assets he likes, a mix of different styles is obtained and it does not look very good.
What solution? Of course, game kits, but they are usually paid and cost a couple of tens of dollars. And not everyone who starts developing games today is ready to invest at least $ 1 in his hobby. Therefore, I made a selection of ready-made 2d game sets that you can download for free. I tried to collect game assets from different authors and for different game genres.
